It looks like with each week warmer weather is closer and closer! I know the students are anxious to spend more and more days playing outside after school!
Congratulations to Marissa, Hailey and Bryce for being our Good News calls for this week and last week. So proud of all of our students that are making good choices every day!
This week we will not being covering a spelling unit. Due to technical difficulties on Friday, we were unable to take our Benjamin Franklin Reading quiz, so we will be taking the quiz on Monday. This week, we will begin the story "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs", but we will finish it up next week since both weeks are short weeks!
We began a new unit in Social Studies, discussing the 13 original colonies and moving into the pioneers and their journey west. In Science, we also began a new unit on Earthquakes and Volcanoes. The students are very excited to be able to participate in some science experiences with this chapter!
In Math, we continue the study of fractions. The students are doing a great job with these fractions, and I love that fact that they have mentioned more than once how they even like fractions! (:
We will begin the study of Verb Tenses in Language and continue that study after Easter.
Don't forgot the Indian Dioramas are due on Tuesday, March 31. I am so excited to see how the creative the students are!
Remember that Easter break will begin on Thursday, April 2 and continue for the students through Tuesday, April 7! We will see them back at school on Wednesday, April 8! Happy Easter!
