Thank you to all of the Grandparents and Special People who attended our Grandparent/Special People Day on Friday! We had a blast and were so excited to have so many visitors in our classroom!
Congratulations to Nate, our orange card winner of the week! Every week our grid is filled with the students' names, showing that these kids are experts at making good choices! Keep up the great work!
This week will be a busy one! We continue to study the states and the abbreviations in Social Studies. (You can find the states that will be tested for the Monday and Wednesday tests on the Coming Attractions link!) In Science we are discussing plant parts and will be discussing flower parts later in the week. We will begin a new Chapter in Math after our Chapter 1 test on Tuesday. We will focus on nouns in Language and begin a new Unit in Reading, discussing drawing conclusions and making predictions.
Many of the children are needing a little more help with the rounding of numbers to the nearest hundred. Please let me know if you need extra practice sheets. You may also go to:

And to the nearest ten:

We will be dismissing early on Friday at 2:00 pm so the children may participate or enjoy watching the Homecoming Parade! Your child may also wear black and gold on Friday to show our support for the Warriors! We are so happy our Warriors are having a successful season this year!
I will be sending home information about parent/teacher conferences in the next week. Please send back your form as soon as possible so that we can schedule you for a time that is best for your schedule. We will try our best to schedule siblings close together for your convenience. I am looking forward to meeting all of you and discussing your child's progress. (:
Enjoy this beautiful fall weather and have a great week!
