Congratulations to Ty and Nate on being the orange card winners for our class this week! Way to make those good choices, boys! Also, congrats to Marissa on being the Golden Paw Winner for third grade. We are so proud of our winners this week!
I hope you all are enjoying a relaxing day, enjoying your time off!
Our class has been very busy getting settled into our routine. We are so excited about our new math program. If you have not had the chance, go check out the website. There are many helpful tools and games to help your child practice the skills of the week. Go to http://connected.mcgraw-hill.com/connected/login.do and type in your student's username and password. (This should be attached to the front page of the student planner book.) You will love this site!
We are continuing to learn about our oceans and continents in Social Studies and we will be wrapping up our unit on taking care of our bodies this week in Science. In Language, we will be discussing subject and predicate and finishing the four types of sentences. (Which the students did an awesome job learning the 4 types!) Please encourage your child to use their Language notebook to help them when completing their homework.
Each day we learn a little more about responsibility and organization in Third Grade. I encourage students daily to learn to become a little more independent in their work and their organization. This is a delicate dance, especially for the first semester. Please encourage your child to become independent with certain responsibilities at home, too! This will help to create independent and responsible learners. (:
