Congratulations to Braidy for being our orange card winner this week! I am proud of the good choices our students are making!
I am also proud of how well almost everyone did on our Math test! The students' hard work is paying off!
Next week we will be working on a special project that will take the place of our regular weekly reading story. We will not be starting a new spelling unit until after Thanksgiving. We started our new Math chapter on Friday and will continue to work on estimating and rounding with subtraction. I also am asking each student to purchase a set of multiplication flashcards to begin practicing their multiplication facts 10 minutes per evening. Our next Math chapter will start multiplication and it would be very beneficial that the students know or are familiar with the facts before we start that chapter. We will probably be ready to begin the multiplication chapter in January.
After Thanksgiving, Mrs. Shannon Smith will be working with our class discussing Cybersafety. With so many young students on social networks and using the internet, the students need to be aware of how to safely participate in their activities.
We will wrap up our study of the Pilgrims and Wampanoag Indians this week. We have been using a web quest in computer lab to learn about these groups and have learned how to navigate a web quest. The children have really enjoyed it!
Have a Happy Thanksgiving! May you enjoy time with family and friends!
