Wow! I just can't believe how fast time is going! Thanksgiving is going to be here soon and then Christmas. Where does the time go?
We have one more video to shoot for our insect reports and then I will post them on our website. The boys and girls did a fantastic job and learned a lot!
We are finishing up our Math unit on time and will begin learning our multiplication facts starting this week. Your child will need a set of multiplication flashcards to use for practice in class and at home. It is very important for the students to learn their facts as they will use them the rest of their life!
Social Studies has been a great hit this week as we are studying the travel of the Pilgrims and the hardships they faced when they arrived at Plymouth Rock. We are traveling through a Thanksgiving Web Quest that shows us videos, maps and pictures and gives us a great idea of what it was like to be a pilgrim and a Wampanoag in the 1600s.
Science will begin a new chapter of studying animal habitats. We will also be discussing the food chain and why it is so important to our existence.
We will be finishing our study of pronouns in Language Arts and begin our poetry unit after Thanksgiving. We will be discussing the use of adjectives in making our writing much "richer"!
