Congratulations to Zach for being our Tiger Card winner this week!
This week we will be wrapping up our Math chapter on double digit Addition and Subtraction and begin our next chapter on triple digit addition and subtraction with regrouping. Science, we are going to study about spiders and insects and the difference between the two, language continuing with plural nouns and the spelling changes to these nouns, and in Social Studies we are discussing the three types of communities: Rural, Urban and Suburban.
In Reading, we are learning to make predictions, draw conclusions and usi context clues. We are also learning that in most situations there is a cause and an effect with all choices that we make.
In a few weeks we will be participating in one of my favorite projects of the year. On Friday, October 18, we will be using pumpkins for our Pumpkin Math, Pumpkin Science Project. I will provide the pumpkins but I am looking to borrow the following items:
newspapers
safety knives for carving pumpkins
big spoons for scooping
measuring cups
If you could send these items into the classroom beginning the week of October 15, I would greatly appreciate it. Please label with your name and I will return all items after our project.
