We are definitely getting our share of snow and cold this winter. At least it has given us some great ideas to write about!
Congratulations to Alex and Ashlyn for being our orange card winners of the week! Great job of making good choices!
We.have.been.busy!! I think we have officially tested in almost every subject in the last week and a half. We are in the middle of writing a five paragraph essay and getting ready to start a new book in reading. We are have added reading and math as subjects that now need to be completed in cursive. We are doing more homework. We are discussing and getting ready to prepare for the ISATs. We are 2nd semester 3rd graders!
Math is all about money this week! In Social Studies, we are discussing the Native American group The Cheyenne Indians (Plains Indians). Science brings us the topic of changing environments and how they can change in a blink of an eye. In Reading, we are learning how important main idea and details are and how a summary is to a book as a preview (trailer) is to a movie.
Writing an essay about snow days has been a great project for us and one of my favorites. The students are really making improvements in their writing! I love to see the wonderful ideas they have!
Our student teacher will begin on Tuesday. We are very excited to welcome her to our class! She will be with us until May.
