Congratulations to Jenessa and Jackson on being our orange card winners this week. Congratulations are also in order to Marissa for winning the golden paw for third grade this week!
As I sit here watching the snow as I type, I can't help but think that spring has got to be here soon. It's March already and I just know that it will warm up soon. We can all hope, right?
This week will be a preparation week for the PARCC testing to begin on March 9. We are the first class to begin the much anticipated testing, so lets all think good thoughts that all will go as planned! I will be sending home a schedule of our testing at the beginning of this week. Please make every effort to make sure your child gets to school on time and eats a good breakfast. Please try to schedule appointments after school or late in the school day since studies have proven that the students perform better when they take the test with their peers.
We will begin our study of the Cheyenne Indians in Social Studies this week. In Science, we will discuss our environments and how changes in our environment effects animals and humans.
Language will cover conjunctions and singular and plural possessives this week. In Reading, we will concentrating on finding information in the text that helps to support the answers to questions and supports that actions of the characters. This skill is one of the many skills that will be tested on the PARCC.
In Math we will continue our study of division and the strategies we can use to learn multiplication and division. The students are really enjoying learning multiplication and division!
Have a great week!
