Finally, I am able to update this blog! Due to unknown issues with the blog section of my website for the last two weeks, I have been unable to update until today!! I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. :(
The students did very well while I was out during my husband's surgery. They had a wonderful sub (my student teacher from last year) that tried to keep everything right on schedule.
We are ready to wrap up Chapter 2 in Math on addition this week. The students have been working very hard on four step solutions to solve story problems! Since beginning a new series and tackling the Common Core, we are moving slowly to assure that the students are grasping the concepts needed to succeed on the PARC test in the spring.
In Language we will be testing over pronouns and begin our study of verbs. Social Studies will start the study of the prairie and the animals located in that region. Science brings the discussion of frogs, fish and mammal life cycles. In Reading, we are concentrating on story elements, context clues, synonyms and antonyms.
Thank you for continuing to check the student planners and signing each and every night. We have very little late homework and that is thanks to all of you!
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or comments. Have a great week!
