Congratulations to Oliver, our orange card winner of the week! Way to make good choices.
We will begin Tiger Time on Tuesday, September 23. This quarter we were unable to offer an enrichment class, but we plan to do so in the near future.
This Friday we will be holding a special day to honor our Grandparents and Special People Day. Friday, September 26 from 2-3pm, we invite all Grandparents and Special People to come and participate in a variety of classroom activities with our North Ward children. PTO will provide a snack and the teachers will have a fun filled hour planned to enjoy with the students! We are very excited for Friday to arrive!
This week we begin our study of abbreviations for the 50 states and learning about the locations and nicknames for each of our states in Social Studies. In Science, we continue to study about plants and will begin a fun web quest on the computer to learn about how plants grow and make and process their own food.
In Reading, we will be taking our Unit test and then working on the skill of compare and contrast using Fairy Tales written from different points of view. In Language, we are in the process of a fun project using the local business names in town to practice common and proper nouns and capitalization. We will be making a digital class book to display our work. I hope to have it on our website when it is completed!
In Math, we continue to study rounding to the nearest tens and hundreds. We will be having a unit test sometime next week.
If you have not had the chance to sign up for a party, please go to the link title Party Sign Up on the class website and choose a party and item you want to bring. I thank you for your help!
Enjoy the beautiful fall days this week!
