Conduct Grade
The students’ conduct grade will be based on their behavior in the classroom, at recess, during special classes and during transition times. I will be giving a weekly conduct grade that will be accessible on Teacherease. The grade will be based on the number of tickets the students have at the end of each week. Each student will be handed 3 tickets at the beginning of the week. The students will have chances to earn tickets throughout the week for good behavior. If a student misbehaves in my class or any other class (PE, Art, Music, etc.) they will lose one or more tickets, depending on the infraction. If the student forgets a name on a paper, does not follow along in class, does not turn in homework or turns it in late or does not listen, they will also lose a ticket. If a student does not lose any tickets in a week's time they will receive an S+, if they lose one ticket an S, two an N, and all the tickets a U. Every two weeks, the students will have the opportunity to purchase prizes with their tickets including sitting at the teacher's desk for a day, switching seats with another student for the day, lunch out with the teacher (a high price item but very popular), sitting in the teacher's chair at their own chosen spot in the room, taking their shoes off in the classroom, etc. The students will also have the opportunity to "purchase" school supplies (i.e. erasers, pencils, crayons, glue, etc.) if needed by using their tickets. If a student needs to use the restroom during class time they will also give one ticket. These tickets that are "spent" on prizes, school supplies, bathroom, etc does not count against their conduct grade.
